Energy Institute agrees protocol to issue Energy Performance Certificates in Scotland

The Energy Institute has signed a protocol with the Scottish Buildings Standards Agency to recognise suitably qualified members from the EI’s Register of Energy Consultants to be accredited to issue Energy Performance Certificates in Scotland. The Energy Performance in Buildings Directive, EPCs are required for all new buildings built from January 2006 and existing buildings over 1000m². Should Consumer ensure Against Disposal on Purchase?

In the last few months a number of initiatives have been put in place by consumer electronics companies to manage the disposal and hopefully recycling of their goods. Two examples are the Japanese consumer electronics companies getting together and, in the US this week, a company called New Corp has introduced a scheme where it will take for recycling consumer goods from retailers and give credits to consumer through the retailer for the purchase of new goods based on the monies earned from recycling.

Indian Company to Produce Fuel from Waste Plastic

Pune-based BVG India Ltd said that it has developed a technological process for making pure diesel and petrol from all types of plastic wastes. The company has completed basic prototype trials and aims at carrying out the remaining trials by the end of January.
