Timo Leppä has been appointed Director General of Chemical Industry Federation of Finland. Mr Leppä will begin as deputy to Director General 1 March 2009 and take his position as Director General 1 June 2009 as the current Director General Hannu Vornamo will retire.
M. Sc., CEFA Mr Leppä has been working as Executive Vice President, Group Communications of Kemira Oyj and a member of Kemira´s strategic management board since 2001. He has been in various duties at Kemira Oyj since 1985.
"We are very pleased with the Federation´s development led by Hannu Vornamo and believe the development will continue when Timo Leppä takes over," says Risto Rinne, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chemical Industry Federation of Finland.
"Mr Leppä has what it takes in the position: he has a long career in the chemical industry and excellent and wide communication skills. A smooth transition from Mr Vornamo to Mr Leppä will ensure the success of the Federation," Mr Rinne concludes.
The decision on appointment was made at Federation´s meeting on 17 November 2008.
